About This Opportunity
Join the Target Commercial Interiors team, where you can lead design, project management, installation, facility and asset-management services for commercial customers. Use your skills and expertise to provide customized office furnishings and design services to organizations both large and small.
Creates design solutions and specifications for all or part of projects as assigned by the VP of Design, a Design Lead or a Senior Designer. Project scopes may range from a small, single office layout to large complex projects in the following vertical markets including, but not limited to corporate, education, healthcare, hospitality and sporting facilities. Work to assure that all projects result in a win for the client, a win for TCI, and a win for TCI Team Members.
Project Work (75%)
- Assist or act as lead Designer on assigned projects.
- When acting as lead Designer, assume reasonability for work delegated to other Designers on project team.
- Develop functional and creative design solutions that meet the client’s requirements, aesthetic and budget.
- Apply knowledge of design trends, code requirements and appropriate product applications when developing design solutions.
- As required by the project, execute any or all phases of the design process including, programming, schematic design, design development and contract documents.
- Create computer generated Design documents including design intent drawings, space plans, furniture typicals, furniture plans, installation documents, 3D views and rendered images to communicate and document design solutions.
- Create computer generated furniture specifications.
- Ensure accuracy of all drawings and specifications prior to presenting to client and/or placing an order.
- Participate in key project meetings including Opportunity Kick Off meeting, Quote Finalization Meeting, Pre-Order Meeting, Pre-Installation Meeting, and Punch Meeting.
- Participate in responding to bids and RFP’s.
- Assist or lead the effort in writing Design contracts and additional service contracts for Design services.
- Provide and manage to key mile stone dates assigned to Design on the Risk Report.
- Meet project deadlines and keep accurate records of working time, additional service requests and reimbursable expenses specific to each project for billing purposes.
- Timely completion of TDX and billing reviews.
- Act as back up for other Designers when needed.
Client Interface (25%)
- Assist inpreparing and participating in consultative selling engagements and marketing efforts.
- Assist or lead the effort in preparing and giving client presentations.
- Assist or lead the effort in presenting design contracts and additional service contracts.
Requirements
- 4 year interior design or Interior Architecture degree
- NCIDQ or State certification (within 2 years of reaching qualification and/or employment)
- Dealership back ground preferred
- 3+ years of industry experience
