About This Opportunity
We are seeking an exceptional lead analyst to build Big Data analytical capabilities that can drive profitable sales and foster a great guest experience at Target. As a lead analyst, you will be working on integrating structured and unstructured data from a variety of sources. You will be leveraging predictive analytics, data mining and machine learning techniques to develop data-driven solutions and real-time recommendations that can drive profitable sales and great guest experience.

- Demonstrate passion, curiosity and creativity in generating novel ideas and deploying an array of advanced analytical techniques.
- Determine best methods to gather, merge and manipulate a variety of structured and unstructured data e.g. POS, Web, social, click-stream, etc.
- Leverage a multitude of data sources to conduct data mining, solve complex problems, develop algorithms, and discover hidden patterns and insights.
- Develop accurate recommendations systems using statistical and machine learning models.
- Collaborate with engineers to develop scalable End-to-End products for batch and real-time distributed systems.
Requirements
- MS or Ph.D. in Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related area of study.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in analytics environments.
- Experience applying machine learning, text-mining, data mining, optimization, and/or graph mining techniques.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision to research and test innovative solutions.
- Knowledge of statistical programming languages such as SAS or R.
- Fluency in programming languages such as C/C++, Java, Python, etc.
- Hands-on experience with big data sets and distributed computing tools such as Apache Hadoop, MapReduce, Mahout, Hive, etc.
